Gene Blanc Elected Chairman
Officers have recently been elected by the Moline Foundation Board to lead the local community foundation in their grantmaking and community activities.
Gene Blanc, Moline, CEO & Chairman of the Board, Midland Information Resources, has been elected Chairman.
Jon Tunberg, Moline, Co-Owner, Whitey's Ice Cream, has been elected Vice Chairman.
Dennis Schwartz, Moline, Vice-President, Pension Investments, Deere & Company has been elected Secretary.
The other members of the Moline Foundation Board include Dr. Paula Arnell, Rock Island, Pathologist, Laboratory Director, Metropolitan Medical Laboratory; Peter Benson, Moline, Attorney, Lane & Waterman; Dennis Fox, Attorney, Califf & Harper; Karen Getz, Moline, Co-Owner,Gendler's; Sandra Kramer, Moline, Community Volunteer; and Jim McLaughlin, Vice President, Southeast National Bank.
The Moline Foundation, founded in 1953, is a community foundation and non-profit organization which provides grants to health, human services, education, community development, the arts and other charitable organizations which benefit the citizens of Moline and the surrounding area. The Moline Foundation receives and administers charitable gifts and has a current endowment of over $14 million.
CommunityWorks Received
a $400,000 Donation from The William Butterworth Trust
The CommunityWorks program, which benefits child care, land
use, and work force development projects in Rock Island County,
received a $400,000 donation from the William Butterworth Memorial
Trust in 2005.
